Scripture Reading: Acts 16:20-34
Introduction:
I. Two separate conversions to Christ are described in Acts 16 and enable us to not only appreciate the power of the gospel but also to leave us with examples of what occurs in the life of a new convert.
A. Lydia hears words from a preacher, gives heed to those words and is then baptized.
B. The Philippian jailor also hears words about God, believes those words and is baptized.
II. This study is not, “The Evolution of Conversion,” but “The Evolution of a Convert.”
A. It is emphasized that the way of conversion or God’s method of saving man does not change.
B. We are considering the changes occurring in one’s life before, during and after conversion.
III. The conversion of the Philippian jailor is an example of the power of the gospel in an unexpected location and person.

Conclusion:
Joy in heaven must be something to see and we are told what brings it about.
Luke 15:10 “Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
