Introduction
A. Even though they didn’t know what would happen, Shadrack, Meshack, and Abednego were resolved to obey God instead of the king, and God delivered them in their hour of trouble.
B. Do you think they had any doubts in God’s ability to save them? Would you? Are you ever less than 100% confident in your faith?
Discussion
I. When in doubt, know that you are not alone.
A. Abraham struggled with uncertainty about how God would fulfill His promises (Genesis 15:1–3; 16:2; cf. Romans 8:18–21).
B. Moses was a man of great faith, but he struggled with uncertainty as well (Exodus 4:13; 5:22–23).
C. Gideon didn’t feel confident that God could use him to deliver Israel (Judges 6:13) and asked for signs (6:17, 36–40).
D. Peter wrestled with doubts at times (Matthew 14:31), but his faith became strong (Acts 4:19–20; 5:29).
E. Even John struggled with uncertainty about Jesus (Matthew 11:2–3).
II. What is a Christian to do when doubts arise?
A. Keep trusting in God, and pray earnestly for His assistance (John 14:1; Mark 9:14–29).
B. Share your struggles with others (Galatians 6:2).
C. Don’t run from God when you need Him the most (John 6:60–69).
Conclusion
A. God has never expected His servants to accept any message without authentication (1 John 4:1; Galatians 1:8).
B. God will help you with your unbelief. Will you let Him?
