They Will Hear (PM)

Scripture Reading:  Acts 28:28

 Introduction:

I.  The closing scene in the book of Acts finds Paul in prison teaching all who came to him (Acts 28:30).

II.  Acts 28:23-29 describes an appointed day in which Paul is not only explaining the kingdom of God, but also persuading a Jewish audience about Jesus.

III.  The last quotation Luke records from Paul is, “Therefore let it be known to you that the salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles, and they will hear it!”

IV.  Paul has said this before, Acts 13:46 and 18:6, but why?

V.  Paul loved his fellow Jew (Romans 10:1; 1 Corinthians 9:19-22; Romans 11:11-14).

Discussion:

I.  These Gentiles will hear it for the same reasons you and I do.

A.  Because of the love it shows (Romans 5:8).

B.  Because of the hope it gives (Romans 15:4; 1 Peter 1:3).

C.  Because of the guilt it removes (Isaiah 1:18; 1 Peter 3:21).

D.  Because of the fellowship it provides (1 John 1:7).

E.  Because of the joy (1 John 1:4).

F.  Because of Heaven (John 14:1-3). (This is our field of dreams!)

II.  These Gentiles will hear it because someone will always teach it.

A.  The words of Jesus will not pass away (Matthew 24:35).

B.  God’s word will not return to Him void (Isaiah 55:11).

C.  God chose preaching to save believers (1 Corinthians 1:21).

D.  Jesus came to save sinners and the gospel is the power of God unto salvation (1 Timothy 1:15; Romans 1:16).

E.  Near the end of his life, Paul wrote to Timothy, “preach the word…”  (2 Timothy 4:2)

Conclusion:

People are always going to hear and listen to the gospel, even if you and I don’t.  If you’re too busy with entertainment, work, education, self, etc. someone will still reap the glorious blessings of the salvation of God.
