The Approach to Rome (AM)

Scripture Reading:  Acts 28:13-15

Introduction:

I.   The long journey to Rome is nearly over and the book of Acts will soon come to a close.

II.  The Lord had told Paul in Acts 23:11, to be of good cheer because he must also bear witness at Rome, and now the time has come.

III.  Anxiety can be very strong just before a significant event.

IV.  Based upon what we know about Paul, his anxiety was not as much about what awaited him, but what he would learn about the brethren at Rome.

V.  The brethren at Rome were paying attention, they responded, and they had a tremendous influence upon Paul.

A.  Engaged Christians can influence each other to continue in the work of the Lord.

This meeting with the Roman brethren was not only the answer to Paul’s prayer, but it was the encouragement from both sides because of the mutual faith (Romans 1:8-12).
