[Scripture Reading: Psalm 75:1]
Introduction
A. Have you ever been amazed at how richly God has blessed you (Genesis 32:10; 48:11)?
B. When God blesses us “exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think” (Ephesians 3:20), how do we begin to thank Him?
I. We can thank God by praising Him.
A. We can thank Him in song (Psalm 18:49; 92:1; 100:4; Ephesians 5:18-20; James 5:13).
B. We can thank Him in prayer (Nehemiah 11:17; 12:27; Daniel 6:10).
II. We can thank God by using His blessings to His glory.
A. We can dedicate the blessings He has given us to His service (Proverbs 3:9-10; 1 Chronicles 29:12-14; Malachi 3:10).
B. We can thank God with sacrifices we offer (Leviticus 7:11et.seq.; 2 Chronicles 29:31; Hebrews 13:15).
C. We can thank God when we are obedient to His Word (1 Samuel 15:22; Proverbs 21:3).
D. We can thank God by showing kindness to others (Micah 6:6-8; 2 Samuel 19:37).
Conclusion
A. “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).
B. When we consider all the ways that God has blessed us, our lives ought to be filled with praise and thanksgiving.
