Scripture Reading: Acts 24:24–27
Introduction
A. Have you ever been in the uncomfortable position of meeting someone you have forgotten, or maybe worse, of talking with someone who has obviously forgotten you?
B. When Paul was locked away for those two years in Caesarea, do you suppose that he ever felt forgotten?
Discussion
I. Whatever he may have been, Paul was not forgotten by anyone.
A. Felix didn’t forget about him (Acts 24:25–27).
B. The Jews made it clear that they hadn’t forgotten about him (25:1–3).
C. Paul’s brethren didn’t forget about him (24:23).
D. God hadn’t forgotten about him either (23:11).
II. Whatever you may be experiencing, you aren’t forgotten.
A. We might feel forgotten at times (Psalms 13:1–2; 22:1–2; Lamentations 5:19–20).
B. God has repeatedly promised never to forget His children (Deuteronomy 4:31; Isaiah 49:14–15), and He has always honored this promise (Genesis 8:1; Exodus 2:24; 1 Samuel 1:11, 19).
C. If you are in the pit of despair yourself today, remember that God will never forget you, and He may be preparing to do His greatest work in your life.
Conclusion
A. God will never forget you, but have you forgotten Him?
B. God has never promised a life of ease, but He does promise to lead us through the valleys to the tablelands. Will you trust Him?
