As the words of a certain hymn say, “We live in a changing world.” In the past few decades we have seen men of science rid the world of dreaded diseases like smallpox and polio. We have seen these men strap astronauts into rocket ships, send them into orbit around the earth, and even land them on the lunar surface. They have probed the depths of space and unlocked many of the secrets of the human genome. Today’s personal computers can process millions of pieces of information almost simultaneously.
Despite the many great things that scientists have done to make life here on earth better, there are some who are working actively today to destroy everything that is dear to us. Before the year 1967, it was unlawful in this state for any teacher in any school funded by state tax dollars “to teach any theory that denies the story of the Divine Creation of man as taught in the Bible, and to teach instead that man has descended from a lower order of animals” (Public Acts of Tennessee for 1925, Chapter 27, House Bill 185). Today, however, our children are being taught this godless form of pseudo-science from the very beginning of their student careers. As we consider the way in which the moral condition of our nation is spiraling out of control, it is little wonder as we consider also the fact that many people in this generation have been raised without God.
You may remember (as I do) a teacher rebuking a student for using God’s name in vain, but the day has come in which teachers are now rebuking their students for using God’s name with reverence. Those who have been responsible for removing moral standards from the classroom and the home and replacing them with what Paul identified as “science falsely so called” (1 Timothy 6:20, KJV), are also to be blamed largely for the moral depravity of today’s society. If you miss the day when you could trust your neighbor and know the joys of living in a family unspoiled by divorce and disharmony, you may thank Charles Darwin and the dishonest proponents of his dogmas.
If you want your children to know where they really came from—that they were made in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:26)—start acquainting them with the only book that can teach these truths—the Bible! If you would like to know more about what you can do to protect your children from this deadly doctrine, come visit us. Don’t forget your Bible!
