You Can Do It! (PM)

Scripture Reading:  Philippians 4:10-13

Introduction 

A.  As we deal with the struggles that come with living the Christian life, some may feel at times that it just can’t be done.

B.  Paul’s letters were often filled with rebuke but also consistently contained messages of blessed assurance (Galatians 6:9; 1 Corinthians 15:58).

Discussion

I.  You can know the truth!

A.  Jesus taught this repeatedly (John 7:17; 8:32).

B.  The apostles also taught this (1 Timothy 2:4; 1 John 2:20-21).

C.  Paul speaks of some who are “always learning, but never able to come to the knowledge of truth” (2 Timothy 3:7).

II.  You can be saved!

A.  The “chief of sinners” was forgiven (1 Timothy 1:15).

B.  No sin is too great for Christ’s blood to wash away (Revelation 1:5; Acts 22:16).

III.  You can overcome temptation and live the Christian life!

A.  Paul suffered greatly (2 Corinthians 11:22-29) but remained faithful to the very end (2 Timothy 4:7).

B.  God has promised never to allow Satan to tempt us beyond our ability (1 Corinthians 10:13).

IV.  You can go to heaven!

A.  God has prepared this place for you (Matthew 25:34).

B.  God wants you to be with Him (1 Timothy 2:4; 2 Peter 3:9).

C.  Heaven’s gracious invitation is open now to “whosoever will” (Revelation 22:17 KJV; cf. Mark 8:34-38).

Conclusion

If you are willing to exchange your desires for the Father’s and bear your cross after Him, you can have eternal life with Him!
