Heavenly Vision (AM)

Scripture Reading:  1 Samuel 3:8–10

Introduction

A.  If the Lord Himself were to speak to you today and instruct you to do something, would you obey?

B.  When God calls people to act, don’t you find that His demands usually contradict the will of the one He calls on?

C.  Does God call us to action today? How?

Discussion

I.  How should one respond to a heavenly vision?

A.  The first thing we should do is obey (Acts 26:19–20; 1 Samuel 3:10–18; Acts 10:9–29).

B.  One thing we should never do is boast (2 Corinthians 12:7; Isaiah 10:15; 1 Corinthians 4:7; 2 Corinthians 4:7).

C.  We should also be willing to share that vision (Acts 26:20; 20:20–27; 11:1–18; Matthew 28:18–20).

II.  Have you ever received a heavenly vision?

A.  God has revealed the plan of redemption (Ephesians 3:1–13; Romans 3:24–4:4).

B.  God has revealed great mysteries concerning His eternal kingdom (Ephesians 3:6; John 18:36; Matthew 16:18).

C.  God has created unique opportunities for every one of us.

Conclusion

A.  If you are outside His fold, God is calling you (Matthew 11:28–30).

B.  If you are His child, strive to “walk worthy of the calling with which you were called” (Ephesians 4:1).
